10-minute tasks to feel more fun and free

There’s no doubt about it, one of our mottos is always to life our best life! Because when we’re having fun, we definitely feel more free. After a hectic working week, we love nothing more than shaking off the feeling of that 9-5 chaos and embracing a fun and free weekend. If you’re ready to get on board with living life to the max, we’ve rounded up some easy ways to feel more fun and free in under 10-minutes. You can thank us later.

  1. Feel calm from within

Mental health has (rightly) been highlighted in recent years and a happy mind equates to a happy life. If you haven’t tried meditation before, set any preconceived ideas aside and give it a try. Start by switching off your phone, sitting in a quiet room and setting a timer for 10 minutes. Begin my inhaling deeply through your nose and exhaling out through your mouth. Try to focus on nothing else but the gentle rise and fall of your breath. This process allows us to draw our attention back to the present moment, focusing on the here and now, rather than worrying about what has happened in the past or is yet to come. 1. Phone a friend

We’re probably all guilty of living our lives digitally, keeping up-to-date with friends via text message or sharing photos. But nothing beats a good old fashioned phone call. Take 10-minutes to call that friend you keep meaning to catch up with and feel your mood instantly lift.

  1. Do something you’ve been putting off

Whether it’s unloading the dishwasher, changing the bed or deleting old emails, do something mindless, yet beneficial for just 10-minutes. Afterwards, you’ll feel a sense of achievement. Celebrate those small wins!

  1. Organise your thoughts

Keeping a daily journal is an amazing way to free your thoughts by taking them out of your mind and putting them onto paper. Or, maybe use this time to get organised, by compiling that to-do list that you’ve been putting off. Lay it out in terms of urgent, important, needs done, can wait and unimportant, so you don’t get too hung up on the things that don’t actually need to be done right now.

  1. Practice an attitude of gratitude

Whether you write it down, say it out loud or to yourself, listing 3 things you are grateful for each day will help you realise just how fun and free your life is

  1. Enjoy a little yoga

We don’t all have time for a daily 1-hour bikram yoga session but sometimes 10-minutes is all we need. Use this time to perform some simple movements and stretches, which make your feel energised.

  1. Make something different for breakfast

Breakfast is definitely our favourite meal of the day and we love getting a little creative in the kitchen. This weekend, why not try cooking something new?! Whether it’s that new smoothie recipe you’ve been meaning to try for ages, or some comforting home made pancakes, cook up a storm and watch your mood boost.

  1. Manage your time

Hectic day ahead? Take 10-minutes to plan exactly how you want it to go…

  1. Plan your day
  2. Allocate time slots
  3. Prioritise your most important work first
  4. Make decisions and live with them
  5. Enjoy an at-home mani-pedi

It might be autumn and although we’re committed to spending less time in sandals, you just never know where the day will take you, so give yourself a quick at-home mani-pedi, choosing a colour, which makes your smile.

  1. Go golden

Nothing beats the feeling of a fresh layer of tan, so why not top up yours?! All our tans are super easy to apply, so you’ll definitely be done in 10-minutes or less. Shop your favourite online here.
